Sites of Sinj and the Cetinska krajina region – through the lens of AIESEC students

20.06.2016.

On June 18, students from Parichaya Srakaeo in Thailand and Karim Taha in Algeria visited our town as part of a program with the world’s largest student organization AIESEC (founded in 1948) which exists in 110 countries around the world. AIESEC operates at 5 different universities in Croatia (Faculties of Economy in Osijek, Rijeka, Split and Zagreb, and the Faculty of Organization and Informatics in Varaždin). It is an organization which enables students to develop their potential through practical work in order to have a positive influence in the community and society in general. The purpose of the students’ visit is to record a segment and write a blog about the tourist offer and potential of the town of Sinj and the Cetinska krajina region.

The segment on Sinj will be posted on various social networks and blogs. The whole program gives the students an opportunity, as well as all others following them, to access sites, historical and cultural heritage, tradition and customs of the hosting countries in a new and exciting way. This type of promotion proved effective for all young tourists who aim for destinations they find interesting and attractive. This was the first visit of that kind. We will soon welcome another group of students who will record their own segments about Sinj and the region.

In order to sufficiently display a part of Sinj’s and the region’s tourist potentials we visited the Shrine of the Miraculous Lady of Sinj, the Hippodrome and Sinj’s sport airport. The members of Sinj Aeroclub, along with the flying instructor Natko Kulić, enabled the students to film their segments from air. The students also visited the Museum of Sinj Alka, the Old Town and other sites, as well as Panj where they could see the 2nd Cavalry wagon – the summer of ’95.

We would like to take this opportunity to thank everyone for a successful cooperation.
